Set of posters and slides for a 4-week sermon series at The Vine
Christmas is the time to not only celebrate the birth of our Saviour but to reorient our lives toward his ways and his truth. In order to truly receive our King, we need to first dethrone all the others. In this Advent series, we look at some of the kings that we need to dethrone so that we can make more room for Jesus.

Unlike recent Advent series, we wanted this year’s to be more warm and bright. When creating these illustrations, I was inspired by old Christmas cards and picture books.
Each week we looked at the Christmas story from the viewpoint of a minor character and one king that needed to be dethroned. Each room represents one king: the main bedroom for the king of control; the office for the king of conceit, the lounge for the king of popular opinion; the attic for the king of disappointment.
All the slides for the same week uses the same illustration of the room but I illuminated different items in the room depending on the content.
